Payments

However they want to pay

Tender is where a sale either completes or goes wrong. LinxPos supports the combinations customers actually use, and keeps card handling at arm's length from the till application.

In detail

What you get

Cash

Cash tender with change calculation and drawer control, including automated cash handling where the hardware is fitted.

Card

Chip and PIN handled by a dedicated payment client talking to the terminal, so the till application is not in the card data path.

Vouchers

Gift and promotional vouchers validated at the point of scan — format, check digit, type, expiry and prior use are all checked before value is given.

Split tender

A balance can be settled across several methods, with the outstanding amount shown as each one is taken.

Multi-currency

Foreign currency tender with configured rates and change given in the local currency.

Account and loyalty

Charge to an account or apply a loyalty card, identified by scan or by number.

How it runs

Step by step

  1. Select The operator or customer chooses a payment method from the tender screen.
  2. Authorise Cash is counted, the terminal is driven, or the voucher is validated.
  3. Settle The outstanding balance updates; further methods can be taken until it clears.
  4. Complete Change is calculated, the drawer opens if needed, and the receipt prints.
